“Hong Kong Cancer Day 2024" was successfully held at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel on 8 December. This year's theme was "Setting Sail", providing valuable information about young cancer patients' life after recovery, and driving positive energy to help these “fellow travelers” reintegrate into society. The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society (HKACS) were honoured to have Dr. Lee Ha-yun, Libby, Under Secretary for Health, as the Guest of Honour for the event. Dr. Leong Che-hung, President of HKACS, and Mrs. Patricia Chu, Chairman of HKACS, led over a hundred participants to set sail.
The event featured Mr. Rubio Chan, one of the founders of DeWonder, and Ms. Lesley Lai, Communications and Project Manager of Walk in Hong Kong, along with Dr. Rico Liu, member of HKACS Cancer Education Subcommittee and a specialist in clinical oncology, who shared travel preparations and recommended attractions. Additionally, Ms. Allison Cheung, a renowned human resources expert, joined forces with a cancer survivor, also an illustrator, Ar Chuen to share insights on psychological readiness for re-entering the workplace.
Furthermore, Dr. Lam Ka-on, Chairman of HKACS Cancer Education Subcommittee, announced the results of the "Early Cancer Awareness Survey", aiming to raise public awareness and promote regular check-ups and healthy habits for cancer prevention.
