The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society (HKACS), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Public Libraries, organised two “A-Z Guide for Carers” Public Seminars on 3rd May and 14th June, 2026 respectively. The two sessions received an enthusiastic response, attracting nearly 300 caregivers and prospective caregivers.
We are deeply honoured to have Dr. Cecilia FAN, Under Secretary for Health, as the officiating guest. The sessions were moderated by Ms. Janet WONG, Editor of “A-Z Guide for Carers”, Mrs. Patricia CHU, Chairman of HKACS, and Ms. Cheryl FUNG , Chief Executive Officer of HKACS.
The first talk covered dementia, stress management and dream interpretation, as well as the pros and cons of vegetarian diets for the elderly. The second session introduced tissue fragmentation technology, advance directives, and ways to care for one’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It also featured sharing from a cancer survivor and celebrity caregivers. The talks were rich in content and highly practical, offering support and inspiration to participants.
HKACS looks forward to organising similar events in the future, continuing to demonstrate the collective efforts of the community in supporting caregivers.
